Editorial Standards
How we research, write, and correct everything published on SweepReady.
Who writes this site
Content is researched and edited by the SweepReady Editorial Team and published under that byline. We do not invent author personas, credentials, or job titles, and we do not claim certifications or trade qualifications we do not hold. SweepReady is an independent information publisher: not a chimney service company, not a certification body, not a franchise, and not a government agency.
How we source
Standards and requirements are sourced to the bodies that own them, and we link to those sources directly: the National Fire Protection Association for NFPA 211 and its inspection levels, the certification bodies (CSIA, NFI) for their own credential rules and fees, the EPA for wood-burning guidance, OSHA for fall-protection rules, the CPSC for home heating safety education, and the IRS and state agencies for business registrations. State-variable facts are handled differently and deliberately: where a requirement genuinely varies by state or locality, contractor licensing for repair work, sales tax on services, permits, we name the deciding agency and give you the exact question to ask it, rather than publishing a guessed answer.
What we refuse to publish
- Fabricated reviews, testimonials, ratings, customer counts, or success stories. We are a new publisher; until real customers choose to be quoted, no customer voices appear here.
- Invented statistics or unverifiable market numbers. Price and cost figures on this site are computed from numbers you enter into our tools, never presented as market data.
- Guaranteed-outcome language. Nobody can promise you customers or income, and we do not.
- State-specific requirements we have not sourced. The deciding agency gets named instead.
- Fear-based safety claims. Chimney and carbon monoxide safety matter, and we present them with sources, not scare tactics.
Dates and updates
Every article carries its published date, and a visible updated date when it changes materially. The paid Business Kit is a living document: purchasers keep permanent access to the current version through their original link, and corrections flow to everyone.
Corrections
If anything on this site is wrong, outdated, or misleadingly framed, email team@sweepready.com with the page and the issue. Corrections are made on the page itself, with the updated date reflecting the change. Agency names and links change occasionally; reports of dead or redirected links get the same treatment.
Monetization, disclosed
This site is funded one way: the one-time sale of the Chimney Sweep Business Kit. We sell no leads, take no commissions from certification bodies, training providers, insurers, or equipment makers mentioned in our content, and run no sponsored placements. If that ever changes, this page and the affected pages will say so plainly.
